Steve Minnikin is the Minister for Customer Services and Open Data and Minister for Small and Family Business in the Crisafulli LNP Government. He is responsible for establishing a new Department dedicated to delivering Australia’s most customer service-focused government, including streamlining government services for Queenslanders and small businesses.
First elected to the Queensland Parliament in 2012, Steve represents the electorate of Chatsworth in Brisbane’s south-east. He is a long-time Chatsworth local, having grown up in Carina and now resides in Belmont with his family.
Steve has an intimate knowledge of Chatsworth and proudly represents a Government committed to making the community safer, delivering easier access to health services, and securing affordable housing. He is particularly driven to address the rising cost of living and to ease the financial pressures many Queensland families face.
Prior to entering Parliament, Steve was involved in the retail property management and development industry. As a businessman, Steve understands the importance of investing and backing small and family businesses to deliver more jobs and economic prosperity for all Queenslanders.
