
Following the release of the 2026 State Budget, join The Hon David Janetzki MP, Treasurer of Queensland, Minister for Energy and Minister for Home Ownership, for an address on Growing the Queensland Economy. This session will examine Queensland’s economic direction and the policy settings shaping growth in a rapidly evolving environment.
The discussion will focus on how the Government intends to drive sustainable economic expansion, and the impact of current fiscal settings on business confidence, investment and productivity. The Treasurer will outline priorities for strengthening competitiveness, supporting key industries and enabling private sector activity, while addressing current pressures such as cost of living.

David is Treasurer, Minister for Energy and Minister for Home Ownership. Elected as the Member for Toowoomba South in 2016, David brings diverse experience to the Queensland Parliament.
Born and raised on a dairy farm near Acland, he holds economics and law (honours) degrees from the University of Queensland.
He worked for Corrs Chambers Westgarth in Brisbane and the Manpower Group in London while his wife Mel sang with opera companies in Europe.
Returning to Toowoomba in 2007, he spent a decade in senior leadership positions at People First Bank, including General Counsel.
In 2015 he was recognised as one of Australia’s leading inhouse banking and finance lawyers by the Doyle’s Guide.
He was a founding director of Vanguard Laundry, a large-scale social enterprise, served on the Board of Opera Queensland, lectured at the University of Southern Queensland and chaired the Southern Downs Regional Council Audit and Risk Committee.
David is honoured to serve in the Crisafulli Government as it delivers a fresh start for Queensland.
